SENIORS - Class of '77

The Black and Gold 1977

SENIORS - Class of '77
The Class of '77 entered McKinley in September of 1974, confused and unsure of themselves only to leave on June 5, 1977 with more confidence and experience.
The first activity for this final year in high school was their class game. The 'Spirited Mighty Seniors' won the spirit stick at their pep rally and continued to display their spirit and enthusiasm at the game against the Kaimuki Bulldogs on October 15 at the Aloha Stadium.
In the Homecoming Competitions the Class of '77 placed first (tying with the sophs) only to be disappointed by placing fourth with heir tapestry, 'Tiger Paws' which they had worked on for many days and nights.
Many seniors attended their last Winter Prom 'Walk Close to Me' at the Ilikai Hotel's Bora Bora Room.
The ordering of commencement goods in January told the seniors that graduation was not far away. Pictures and other mementos were selected.
The Senior Luau 'Someday' turned out to be a fun-filled night at Sea Life Park on Saturday, March 26.
Class week in May was filled with many different events which was highlighted by the Senior Prom, 'Do You Know...' on Friday, May 27, at the Princes Kaiulani's Ainahau Ballroom.
On June 5, 1977 the seniors attended their last class activity - commencement. Dressed in the traditional cap and gown the Class of '77 held their ceremony on the front lawn of McKinley High School.
