City Lights

The Black and Gold 1977

Quietly nestled among the bright lights of a busy city, McKinley High School's vast campus lies inconspicuous, dwarfed by its surroundings.

Only the faint glow of the administration building's incandescent lights silhouetting the familiar monkey pod trees gives a clue to the school's location.

As night falls over Honolulu, the darkness sets the mood for our search -- the true direction in which we set our sights. Attempting to bring this goal into FOCUS, it becomes necessity to contemplate the past and how it has shaped and influenced our destiny. Each experience is a learning one, with hope that the same mistakes would not be repeated.

The past cannot be altered; the trial and errors are the patterns for the present --now.
