A Colorful Bicentennial Year For the People of McKinley

The Black and Gold 1976

....A Colorful Bicentennial Year For the People of McKinley

The Bicentennial was more than just the second hundredth anniversary of our country as a nation, but a time to appreciate the heritage that has been acquired through the years. It was a celebration of life..of people coming together for a specific purpose, and so it held true for the people of McKinley High School.

Students, faculty, plus others all united for the week long celebration beginning January 9, themed, "McKinley Salutes the Bicentennial." The kick-off parade included flags, banners, balloons, clowns, the Taikas, drill team, color guard and pep squad heralded the bicentennial year.
