Boys Track

The Black and Gold 1976

Mick Cindermen Display Novice Strength in Sprint

Lack of personnel to fill the open ranks called for a year of rebuilding in boys' track. With a majority of sophomores and newly enlisted freshman, concentration was focused on the novice runners.

Despite a late start, the cindermen faired quite well in preseason meets, displaying strong contention in the sprints and relays.

Those who endured the individual workouts would prosper from the personal satisfaction that track and field could offer.

Tiger cindermen entered the Honolulu district meet at Roosevelt on March 19 followed by the OIA Division novice, relay and track championships, each held in April; the Punahou relays in May and the state track meet on Maui from May 6 to 8.
