The Black and Gold 1975
Class motto, "Live today to its fullest for it will not be here to live tomorrow" was the ultimate goal for the Class of '75 for the past three years.
Capturing the coveted title of "Most Spirited Class," the spirit stick, and first place in the Homecoming float competition in both their junior and senior years, they were well on their way to achieving their goals as these and other experiences shared during the 1974-75 school year matured and educated them.
A mass class meeting on September 27 brought the seniors together to learn about the numerous special activities planned, and the unusual idea of having two social clubs make up most of the standing commitee.
The class game against Kaiser featured the McKinley Seniorettes (all boys) and the 12 green and black clad pep squad members who cheered the Tigers on to victory.
The Senior Banquet '75, an escape from the formalities of the traditional dinner, took place on February 7 in the setting of the Ala Moana Hotels' Vanda Room.
Senior Class Week, May 12 to 16, featured a myriad of fun activities, and was climaxed by the enchantment of the Senior Prom held that Friday night at the Princess Kaiulani.
With graduation approaching, seniors mixed rehearsals and finals in the few remaining days left. Their efforts repaid them with the smiles of family and friends, on their special day--June 1st, when they took their places garbed in cap and gown for commencement exercises.
